The fifth annual World Autism Awareness Day was April 2nd. Every year, autism organizations around the world celebrate the day with unique fundraising and awareness-raising events.
The Chaleur Austism and Asperger Family Centre in Bathurst is raising awareness.
An open-house took place Wednesday night at the centre on Rough Waters Drive.
Spokesperson Karen Chamberlain says it was just one of the activities planned for Autism Awareness Month.
A ``Walk for Autism`` is also taking place in Bathurst on Saturday.
Registration starts at 10am at Le Promenade Waterfront.
Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Community Profile is a great little piece of programming we are proud to share on MAX 104.9.  Not only does it turn the microphone over to the community, giving someone a chance to tell their story, it gives me a chance to sit down with the people who are out there and proactive in the Chaleur region.
