NB College of Physicians and Surgeons the Target of Law Suit
8/7/2012
A group of doctors is suing the New Brunswick College of Physicians and Surgeons over their licences and where they are allowed to practise.
Doctors who attended foreign medical schools are not able to obtain licences in other provinces - despite a three-year-old agreement promising them mobility rights.
Provincial colleges have agreed to mobility for doctors with full licences but docs with conditional licences are still without an agreement on transferability.
Officials say that until all the provinces have agreed on changes, restrictions in the law take precedence over political agreements
