NB Reports Busy Forest Fire Season
8/17/2012
The recent rain fall is probably a sigh of relief for the DNR.
Officials say it was a busy season in fighting forest fires.
310 forest fires have been reported so far scorching 360 hectares of land.
We had one here recently near Brunswick Mines.
John Flinn of the DNR says when they arrived it was bigger than they thought but crews and the weather helped them get it under control.
Even though this year was a busy fire season-- last year was a record low.
But the DNR says the province is fortunate because the fires were small and no communities has to be evacuated.
