Prosser Murder Trial Begins Today
7/18/2012
The trial of a New Brunswick man accused of murdering the mother of his two children is set to begin today in Moncton.
It required just four hours on yesterday (Tuesday) to select a panel of seven men and five women to serve on the jury for the first-degree murder trial of Fred Prosser.
Prosecutor Annie St. Jacques says she will begin the trial by outlining the Crown's case against Prosser and then she will call her first witness.
The 33-year-old man from Shenstone, N.B., is alleged to have sexually assaulted and killed Sabrina Patterson.
The 25-year-old woman's body was found in a wooded area in Shenstone in November 2010, eight days after she was last seen.
The Crown has a list of 60 witnesses, but prosecutors have indicated not all will be called
