A Couple new ones this week including the return of Maroon 5 !
Maroon 5- Misery: Adam Levine and the rest of the Maroon 5 dudes are back ! Surely this will make Hot AC stations all over the world excited with another big shiny tune from the forthcoming cd "Hands All Over" set to drop on Sept 21.
Marianas Trench-Celebrity Status: Another single from the Masterpiece Theatre release, with a very cool video to boot. Gotta love those old school 90210 references.

Little behind on the new tunes these days with vacations going on so let's get at it !
Stef Lang- Mr. Immature : One of the new up & comers to watch out for in the canadian music scene. Stef hails from Vancouver and Blood & Bravery is the 21 year old's debut cd. Check the myspace page for more.
Fefe Dobson- Ghost : The debut single from the forthcoming cd Joy from this young canadian singer songwriter. Fefe is getting alot of attention these days stateside as reflected by the fact that this song was co-written by Kara DioGuardi of American idol fame. Not bad considering her original second cd was scraped because the single didn't chart. I have a feeling the new one should do better when it drops in October.
Sarah Mclachlan- Loving You Is Easy : Finally ! new music from SM. The new cd is on the shelves now and is titled Laws Of Illusion- her first in 7 years. Sarah is currently on the road with her Lillith Fair tour but not all has gone well with the tour, however Sarah is keeping it all in perspective.
Travie McCoy/Bruno Mars-Billionaire : Formerly known as Travis, formerly known as Mr Katy Perry, and now just known as Travie, this is the lead off single off his debut cd Lazurus, his first away from his group Gym Class Heroes. He wants to be a Billionaire- perhaps if he had stayed with Katy Perry he would have, i guess we'll never know.
Drake-Find Your Love : Well by now we all know the story, former Degrassi star makes a mix tape and becomes the biggest Rap Star in the world, well something like that anyway. Some guys have all the luck.
La Roux-Bulletproof: This is a british synth pop duo that calls such legendary synth groups like Erasure, Depeche Mode & Human League as influences. The Debut cd was released in 2009.

Max Music June 24th
New Tuneage has been at a minimum lately but we're making up for it in a big way with 5 new adds this week including the new Lambert !
Adam Lambert- If I Had You : The Glam Nation tour is in full effect and Adam Lambert has never been more popular. This is the follow up to the massive Whataya Want From Me and looks to follow in it's success with it's danceable infectious sound. Adam Lambert is here to stay and it looks like he's going to become the most famous Idol loser ever. Take that people that didn't vote for Adam Lambert !
B.O.B./Haley Williams-Airplanes: The adventures of Bobby Ray is the breakthrough release from this very Rap/Hip Hop artist that's taking the music world by storm . The cd has a variety of collaborations and on this one the bobmister is being helped out by Haley Williams of Paramore fame. Yes i said Paramore, that oughta make the kids scream.
Ash Koley-Don't Let Your Feet Touch The Ground: Although You May be fooled in thinking this is just one female solo artist, Ash Koley is actually a canadian duo made up of members- wait for it- Ash Koley (well of course) and Phil Deschambault. According to the band's official website Phil says his name isn't catchy enough but personally I think he got a bad deal here. Regardless Ash Koley is making a name for themselves as evidence by getting a slot on the lillith Fair Tour this summer.
Rob Thomas-Mockingbird: Well what else can you say about Rob Thomas- other than when he was born i'm sure the doctor's told him he would be a huge success on Hot AC Radio and would go on to be the representitive for mom rockers all over the world. Mission accomplished !
Charice- Pyramid: Whoo, getting pretty fatigued from all the typing here but I gotta say something on Charice and it's big and I mean huge. Oprah Winfrey called this young lady the most Talented Girl In The World, i mean Oprah just doesn't go around giving out compliments like this, cars maybe yes, but not this. So, my typing hand is getting really tired but as you can tell you've got plenty of reasons to listen out to max 104.9.

Three new ones including the return of Katy Perry !
Katy Perry- California Girls : The I Kissed A Girl hitmaker is ready to proclaim summer with her first single off the forthcoming cd Teenage Dream set to drop in August. Fans of Katy won't be disapointed with this one even if they do have to wait another 3 months for the cd, it's all about the hype as they say. Speaking of which Maxim has hyped Katy as the hottest girl out there these days, read more here.
Nickelback- This Afternoon: This is one of those summer tunes that you blast on the deck while having a cold one, in fact i'm pretty sure that's what it's about. Gotta love summer !
Down With Webster- Your Man : Well you don't hear many 7 piece pop rock bands these days bu Toronto's Down With Webster is one of them. Timbaland & Gene Simmons were both interested in signing the group. Their Universal/Motown debut Time to Win Vol 1 is the first of two 7 track mini albums will be released in the fall while vol 2 has already hit the shelves. These guys are wacky.

John Mayer proves he actually does other things than talk about ex girllfriends. And Canada's most underrated duo makes their debut on Max 104.9 ! Let's see what we've got
John Mayer/Taylor Swift- Half Of My Heart : Hadn't heard much from Battle Studies, the latest John Mayer CD, that is until Taylor Swift got involved. John Mayer knows a guaranteed hit when he hears one so probably a good idea for him to get Swift involved, musically not romantically that is... Then again I heard they were dating recently, can't say i'm surprised.
Tiesto/Tegan & Sara- Feel It IN My Bones : Tiesto is a dutch trance artist whose latest release Kaleidoscope features the canadian twin sister act Tegan & Sara. Nelly Furtado is also featured on the release. Good to have this talented duo on Max even if it's not from their own CD. Find out more on Tegan & Sara here.

Kelly Clarkson- All I Ever Wanted : All she ever wanted and more happening these days as she hits the charts once again with the title track from her latest release. Oh and by the way, she is still mad at Ryan Tedder from One Republic. Read Here
Lights- Second Go: The 23 year old from Timmons Ontario born Valerie Poxleitner is back with another tune from her debut cd The Listening- and you will over & over after this infectious diddy grabs a hold.

A Shout out to B.O.B. for Nothin On You, failed to mention here last time- sounds like he's having alot of fun on that track. A couple more new ones this week including the return of Gaga- as if she went away !
Lady Gaga- Alejandro : This one reminds me of Ace Of Base Scandinavian type vibe. Time will tell if it becomes bigger than The Sign- "and it opened up my eyes I Saw The Sign" Brilliant words indeed.
Timbaland/Katy Perry- If We Ever Meet Again : You can't do a collaborative Pop cd these days without asking Katy Perry to be involved. Luckily for Timbaland he did, The result ? This infectious little diddy, straight up wicked.

Three new ones this week including the return of Christina !
Christina Aguilera- Not Myself Tonight : It's been 4 years since we've heard a new studio album from Christina but that's about to change with the release of Bionic. Much has changed since that time, she's a married mom and a new generation of young diva's have come on to the scene but based on the sound of this one don't count Miss Thang out yet. Watch for her in Burlesque co-starring Cher in a theatre near you.
Faber Drive- You And I Tonight: Another single odd Can't Keep A Secret, and once again the secret is out- Faber Drive Rules !
Rihanna- Rude Boy : Much has happened in the life of Rihanna since we've heard from her last. The much documented Chris Brown relationship is finally over (thankfully) and she now is dating La Dodgers player Matt Kemp. She's also slipped in some new music along the way returning with Rated R in late 2009. Here's to Rihanna back on Max, we've missed her.

Taio Cruz F Ludacris- Break Your Heart : Pronounced Tie-oh, this 26 year old british dance R&B artist may be new to most listeners but he's actually quite well known in songwriting circles, penning big hits for the likes of Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake & Pussycat Dolls- so ya know he's good. Ludacris in on the track as well but then again i'm pretty sure it's a rule now that any rap/r&b song has to involve at least two people.

You have been asking for him, now you've got him. Yes, Kris Allen makes a home on The Max 104.9 airwaves !
Kris Allen- Live Like We're Dying: Adam Lambert can't have all the fun. Last year's American Idol winner debuts on Max with this infectious rocker. Here is where i would write something about Allen being a controversial figure but really the guy is pretty squeaky clean, I mean i don't even think he gets mad, but if he does I promise you'll be the first to know but don't hold your breathe. Just proving that sometimes nice guys do finish first, at least when it comes to American Idol.
Karl Wolf- Hurtin': From the man that brought you Africa and even Yalla Habbibi, Karl Wolf is back, i think his hat is even on frontwards for this one, Imagine that !

A Couple of new ones this week including The latest sensation out of Ireland !
The Script- Break Even : With St Patrick's Day just around the corner I guess it's only fitting we add some irish content to the airwaves. This band came onto the scene in 2008 with their self titled CD but it's just been the last few months where they have taken North American by storm with the success of this very single. The band have opened for fellow country men U2 and also for Paul McCartney for his big Citi Field concerts in New York last summer. Song is good, band is good, CD is good. You just can't go wrong here is what I'm saying.
Laurell- Can't Stop Falling : Laurell is a new canadian up & coming artist that has just released her new CD Can't Stop Falling. Find out more !

Three new ones this week including what very well could be the biggest star collaboration since Madonna & Justin Timberlake !
Lady Gaga/Beyonce-Telephone : I'm really not sure how these 2 diva superstars were both able to fit their heads through the studio door but they managed to do it and thank goodness for that. This is another track off The Fame Monster release. I know, Lady Gaga & Beyonce !!! it's just too much to take, I need to pick up the telephone and call someone about this, see what I did there with the phone thing.... yeah.
Jason Derulo- In My Head: In case you were ever wondering what this Beluga Heights stuff was all about, this actually refers to Jason Derulo's record label, the same label that will be dropping his debut self titled CD on March 2nd. Bono from U2 said in a past interview that it's amazing how artists in the rap/hiphop genre actually promote their record labels websites etc in their songs. It really is a brilliant way to market music & Jason Derulo is doing it again on this one, & yes- Beluga Heights is in my head, guess self-promotion really does work !
Jessica Loren- Lonely : This 17 year old "Indie" artist is out of Montreal and her debut CD Lavender Walls is now available on iTUNES, as is her first single Lonely- right here on Max 104.9 !

A couple of new ones this week including the debut of a potential Canadian superstar !
K'naan- Wavin Flag: This Somali Canadian Hip Hop artist is on the verge of making it big with his second cd release Troubadour which is set for release this Tuesday. The CD will feature such well known artists as Kirk Hammett; YES THE Kirk Hamett of Metallica fame ! also Adam Levine from Maroon 5 & Mos Def amongst others. Good timing on this one too with the Olympics going on. If you are wondering about the pronounciation of the name, check this link Cool Tune !
Train- Soul Sister : This one has been doing good things on our Seacrest Countdown for quite awhile and has now found a home amongst the airwaves here at Max. This tune is off the bands 5th cd Save Me San Francisco, their first in 3 years.

Adam Lambert- Whataya Want From Me: After placing second on AI last year this dynamic performer has been the talk of the music business & has created controversey along the way. Any way you look at it Adam Lambert is definitely succeeding in staying in the press. Kris Allen is doing pretty good too without the controversey.This track was co-written by Pink so ya know it's gonna be good. For Your Entertainment indeed !
Stereos- Turn It Up: After playing a showcase during Canadian Music week, this Edmonton 5 piece were taken into a room and told they were going to be superstars. Heck, even Gene Simmons was there. Yes, THE Gene Simmons, the guy that blows Fire with the tongue & make up etc. Anyhoo, back to Stereos
, this is the third single from their debut cd, so just do what they tell you to and Turn It Up !
Marianas Trench- Beside You: Another one from the Masterpiece Theatre CD, these guys rock. In fact out of all the young bands in Canada I think they are one of the few that actually get what being a rock band means (whatever happened to those days?) & have the most potential to last beyond the 2 hit single thing. Time will tell.
